Airborne

Back on my game tonight....I love playing in photoshop with lots of layers and filters and textures.

On a serious note, if you can, go hug the people you love today, or call them. Let them know how much they mean to you.

Do it now.

Life is so damn precious and it can change in seconds. Jenn and I were witness to a tragedy tonight and it has left me shaken. We were following a van on the freeway and watched it swerve into the median and then back and forth for a bit until it finally ended up on an exit and into a parking lot. I was on the phone to the police reporting what we thought was a drunk driver, when we saw and heard the panicked calls of the woman in the passenger seat. It seems her husband had a massive stroke or heart attack and she somehow managed to loosen her seat belt and drive via the passenger seat into the nearest lot. Thankfully the police arrived very quickly, and the ambulance soon after. We stayed with the elderly lady, comforting her as best as we could while they worked on her husband. He was 71 and had just been surfing earlier in the day. They managed to kick start his heart after a good deal of work. We parked the woman's car, and took her to the hospital where her daughter was already waiting for her. Heavy stuff. We're sending good thoughts out to Gene and Sherri tonight. Strangers until tonight, now bonded by tragedy that I hope ends well.

With Peace and Love.....
Supreme awesomeness!!!

It's pretty clear that you "enjoy playing in photoshop" -- and you play there so well! This makes such a great shot.

And so many of us pulling for Gene and sending positive thoughts after reading of your and Jenn's witness. To think of his having just been surfing himself.

This shot and processing is phenomenal!! Love it! So sorry to hear about the elderly couple! I sure hope her husband is doing well! What an amazing story and it could have been much worse, had she not been able to bring the car to a stop!

Scary end to what seemed like a great day.
What a great collage..

Its scary, because we start to think, what ifs. Hope you both managed to sleep well .. and hoping for the best outcome for Gene and Sherri. What ever that outcome is..
And what wonderful ladies you are to do all that for her... we all prey that a stranger would go to those lenghts to help out, but not many people do..

Kisses and hugs to you both..
June 12th, 2011

June 13th, 2011
OMG! othing happens by chance in this life dear. You HAD to be there that time to help those people. How terrifing it must have been for the lady. You girls were so sweet.
Well,I can't call you, or hug you but I can tell you I LOVE YOU from here. All my love for you guys!
AWESOME work, btw. Fav it!
June 13th, 2011
Oh my goodness. What a fateful event to become a part of. I knew a guy who finished his last day of work, had the big retirement party at work, pulled out of the parking lot and had a massive stroke. He lived and two years later got to take the cruise he and his wife were planning for the week following his retirement.
June 13th, 2011
I hope that all is well with your new friends. What an awful thing to happen. On a lighter note....your photo rocks!
June 13th, 2011
Awesome photo. No words other than yours......heavy stuff. Hope all ends well with those folks. We just never know do we?
June 13th, 2011
What a story. They were so lucky to be alive and that fate brought your along and into their lives. Your message for today is more beautiful than this great photo.
June 13th, 2011
This would make a most wicked awesome poster for someone! Wowza, this is such a spectacular edit!!!
June 13th, 2011
Fantastic!!
June 13th, 2011
Wow, awesome! That was what came to my mind when I saw this. Fabulous! :-)
After reading your narrative that is mind-blowing! A 71 year old surfer? I do hope all turns out well for the family!
June 13th, 2011
Incredible processing as always, Heather. What a story. Good for you and Jenn to "be there". So often people look the other way and stay in their own little bubble. Hope all turns out well.
June 13th, 2011
Beautiful photo and your editing is flawless as always! What a terrible thing to witness but I'm not one bit surprised that you and Jenn came to a complete strangers aid.....you both impress me as "givers"! :) My thoughts & prayers go out to Gene & Sherri.....I hope he has a full recovery. If he's surfing at 71 he must be a pretty tough guy! :)
June 13th, 2011
First love this photo, well done and wonderful capture. Second, I am so thankful for Gene and his family that you two girls were there to assist them. Your fast and loving actions are what more people need to have.

June 20th, 2011
Great manipulation, and story. ++
June 20th, 2011
Amazing!!!!!
June 20th, 2011
I just read your story, and it's so so true. When you are a witness to something that can be so life changing in literally a heart beat, it really does leave you shaken. When I was a senior in high school, my friends and I were heading out in the country for a party. There was an accident in front of us, and we stopped. I will never forget walking up to the car and seeing a young woman, obviously gone, hanging out of the car. It haunted me for months. Thoughts are with you and Jenn, and the couple in the accident.
June 20th, 2011
Love Love Love this! Super processing on this!
