Sunset over Lopez Lake -- Time-lapse

This is one of my first few attempts at time-lapse photography. I have a lot of experimenting to do before I get this right, but at least you get an idea of the bitchen sunset we had tonight!

This "movie" consists of 500 still frames taken at 5 second intervals. I had the interval set too long so it isn't super smooth (should have been 2-3 seconds as the clouds were moving faster than I realized). If the sky is nice tomorrow I'm going to try it again at shorter intervals, and get setup before the sun sinks below the horizon (i did snap off a few hdr sets just as the sun was sinking below the horizon right before i started this series).

P.S. I have no idea why this speeds up at the very end, but hey, we gotta start somewhere, ay?

Happy weekend all!

One more to go for me!!!!
WOW!

This is a great job. I read your commentary after I'd watched and I didn't notice any lack of smoothness. I hope you will still upload sometimes after you're done. You've inspired a lot of people xx

I love time lapse photography, Heather. It amazes me that we mortals are capable of such technology just as much as the big boys are. Great job, and will look forward to more.

One more -- wow. I'm OK with it because I know it won't really be your last...........

Another failure, I'm afraid Heather - NOT! If this is your first attempt at time lapse photography my mind cannot take in the results when you get it right! Incredibly effective 'semi-video' and watchable time and again.
