This is Simba's brother, Tiger. He lives at my nonna's house :)
For those who don't know, Simba is my growing kitten and is 14 months old. He's gorgeously affectionate one minute and ridiculously naughty the next! You can meet Simba here: http://365project.org/tags/simba%20the%20cat :D

@vikdaddy Hi! Oh yes, I would definitely definitely recommend it! The shallow depth is pretty much unparalleled (unless you want to fork out the extra dough for an f/1.2!) It's a fair bit pricier than the f/1.8, but it feels much sturdier and handles much better.
@aspada Thank you! :) (I have two nonnas actually! :D) And I love seeing the snapshots of Italy that you share with us - I visited with family in 2008, and we stayed there for a month to see the sights and visit cousins and uncles and aunties we had scattered around the place... I loved it and your photos make me want to go back :)
@pocketmouse Thanks. I had the f/1.8 and although it was fun at the time, I quickly became disappointed with the softness at its shallowest and it's a pretty shoddy build. I am considering the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 because a good copy is meant to be better than Canon's, but I'm not sure I can trust a third party lens yet.
@vikdaddy How much does the Sigma go for? I haven't had any experience with the Sigma, but my f/1.4 has certainly lasted the distance (even surviving a number of falls and a repair!) and I think it is worth the money :)
@pocketmouse sigma goes for a bit more than Canon's 50mm f/1.4 but not by much. Built like a tank though. Still erring towards Canon's 50mm f/1.4 though for brand and compatibility reassurance.
This is a super cool shot, because of the brilliant composition. I'm very drawn to the curvy abstractness of this shot and I think this could work even without the cute Mr. Tiger there.
Love this image of Tiger!
