This is my husband's watch. He wanted me to use it for a picture one day, and I was a little stuck for something to photograph today! The battery in the watch has died and we think they might need to cut the band in order to replace it.
This watch was a Christmas gift for our first Christmas as husband and wife. It depicts the legend behind the Japanese star festival Tanabata, which is celebrated on 07/07 (our wedding anniversary). If you move the watch in certain ways you can see stars/fireworks and a heart behind the people. The legend has to do with lovers who are kept apart but wait for each other and find their way back to each other whenever they can (usually once a year, on 07/07). The last couple of years these themes have felt more relevant to us than we would like for them to be!
