In our pre-pandemic life, I was a fan of fun roadside attractions on our travels. This attraction is local to our region (it's in Kitchener, one of our neighbouring cities), and it's visible from a provincial highway that goes through the region so we've seen it many times, but never up close before. It's in a part of the city we don't have much cause to go to, but as we did have reason to go over there recently, we took the opportunity to find The Shoelace. It's in a sort of business/industrial area that from what I can tell doesn't involve shoes, so I have no idea why someone chose to build an oversized shoelace there!
