When I posted a picture of a local restaurant recently, someone ( @thewatersphotos ) asked if we went in and ate there; the answer is no, we didn't this time-- but that place is in the blue book!
The Blue Book is something I made for Chris when he was really sick early in the pandemic. It was a pretty scary ordeal and I needed to focus on the hope/idea that he'd get better, so I made him a scrapbook/journal of 67 experiences to share in the future. I tried to consider potential differences in his abilities and anticipated pandemic circumstances, so it's a pretty broad range of things... but they're all within 2 hours' drive and all on our own side of the border (we live less than 2 hours from like 3 crossings into the US). Life is a lot different for us after the fact and it's probably going to take us a long time to do them all, but hey... we're happy that we still have the possibility of a long time together.
Anyway, the book pages are set up so they summarize each thing we are supposed to do, but also have blank space. We take a selfie while doing each activity and to complete each page in the book we add the photo along with a little note about the experience. We have to let the photos accumulate a little before getting them printed though, so those have to be added a few at a time. We recently had our third handful of them printed, so it's time to add them in!
The pictured photos here show us (clockwise from far L) trying a particular pizza in Guelph that was on a list of "9 of the Most Outrageous Pizzas You Can Eat in Ontario," hiking to a local landmark (a carved tree) in Waterloo, doing the Grey County Waterfall Tour (the photo is from Indian Falls near Owen Sound), visiting a botanical garden in a small community called Wilsonville, and visiting a sculpture park in Guelph.
Your blue book is very special, it’s a truly wonderful & exciting vision.
