We took a slight detour while in the GTA today in order to see Brampton Jain Temple. It was a bit farther out of the main part of town than we thought it would be, but since we were there, we figured it would be cool to do a daily photo of something from a faith tradition that we don't really have in our own region.
Brampton Jain Temple was the first Jain Temple in Canada to be built using traditional Indian architecture and/or have a Manastambha (the big column in front of the temple). The name of this structure means "Pride Pillar" and it's meant to be a reminder to devotees to check their egos at the door when entering this sacred place.
