Laws of carnival :
Act grazy, be foolish , do silly, pook fun at politics, churches ,government human behaving , take nothing serious .............and : HAVE FUN.
At least 3 days a year.
The shuts, attributes are all of history reasons
I know one. The curtens they wear , It comes from the second world war. People where so poor they can`t afford luxery and as the have/by law to turn/leave out the lights at evening/nights , the curtens has no use for the windows and was a good substute.
Thank you for the pics - but also the explanation of what we are seeing, I find it really interesting, these 365 snapshots into others' lives and cultures :-)
This is quite a coincidence, your festival is running about nearly the same time as the big festival in Brazil, and our Mardi Gras Days here in Lousiana......Guess it is time the whole world had a good time!
What a festive collage. It looks like everyone is having fun! Thanks for explaining why they are wearing curtains. I wondered about this, until I read your narrative.
Wonderful shots of people enjoying the carnival! It sounds like a brilliant way to spend three days - I think it should happen everywhere! Interesting story behind the curtains too!
Beautiful collage. Love these carnival shots. I've been to Sicily to watch carnival there and captured some shots there - will post them as soon as I process them. The funny thing is that although carnival in Malta is so colourful I very rarely go there to have a look.
