Dear Beryl You do n`t know how much work and troubles you got before you can harvest one. In our country halve of the expected apples are damage/lost by the frost in spring.
@pyrrhula - We used to have 2 apple trees in the garden and fruited so well ,but always it as the fear of late spring frost damaging the blossom , but we were pretty lucky as the variety were not early flowering . They were very old and gradually died and had to be cut down !
Hi Ferry. I just read your wonderful advise of how to take care of my orchid. You have no idea how much Hans and I appreciate your and Ina's advice of what to do to keep it alive and growing. thank you both so much for putting this together for us. I thought when the roots come up and stick out of the pot, that the pot might be too small and it needs replanting into a larger pot. may not so?? I do have liquid orchid fertilizer and will follow your instructions. when you talk about a resting time of 6 months....what does it mean? do you stop watering and let them hibernate in a dark place before you start watering them again? sorry about asking you once again.
Fav - evokes memories of childhood visits with my grandmother to her friend who lived deep in the country and had apple orchards. We ate too many apples!
This is *exactly* what I was talking about when I posted my picture today! The apple orchards in Nova Scotia look a lot like this, and under the tree in my photo they fill those huge boxes full of apples! It's a marvelous time of year!
