Pollard the trees by pyrrhula

Pollard the trees

Suzie Townsend . The Willows has to be pollard every 3-4 years. The branches are raw material for many purposes. That`s why we have those trees in the past and still have.
( On the right hand side a hot/glass house. Growing vegetables.)
Amazing , and it makes sense to pollard the trees regularly and make use of the cut off branches !

It really cuts them back. There are a lot of greenhouses in this section, as I see some in the background as well

Oh, my! I don't know that word - pollarding. I had to look it up :). The trees are sad looking but I am sure they will be beautiful in July!! I can't wait to see them. Do you think they will do the other row of trees also? It is so interesting that they cut them back to just a nub and they grow again. Very strong trees!

It's interesting to see the trees together. I went back to see the Lissi today but she was in the same position so I couldn't get any different photos. I'll keep trying :)

The pruning looks so "violent" if I could use that word for it- but also just as amazing that the trees will grow back. Fascinating!
