A few years ago I was visiting northern Italy and in one village, the name escapes, there was a lavender festival with bicycles, baby prams and shops all decorated with lavender and the whole place was enchanting. Thanks for your story of yesterday. I love to see these antique places but I, too, would not like to have to live in them.
