Water tower of Dirksland by pyrrhula

Water tower of Dirksland

The water tower in Dirksland was built in 1939-1941.

The water tower has a height of 62.50 meters and was designed by architect J. Gerber in the style of the Delft School. This tower has long been the highest water tower in the Netherlands, until in 1958 a water tower of 65 meters was built in Emmeloord. The tower has a storage capacity of 575 m³.
It has been used for a restaurant lately but now it`s empthy waiting for a new destination.
Very nice capture, Pyrrhula. Interesting information, too.

I wonder what the future will hold for this one. It doesn't have quite as much charm as the other towers :)
