for next year  by quietpurplehaze
Isn't their structure so clever, with those little shaker holes for the seeds to disperse. Sometimes they seed a little too well! great sharp detail Hazel.

Lovely shot, Hazel; a favourite subject for watercolour paintings or pencil drawings, but posing very nicely for your camera.

I've taken many shots of the poppy seed heads, they are amazing and they change all the time. Super shot, lovely tones and dof, fav for me!!

@wordpixman Thank you , Arthur - you given me an idea, & I might try a pencil drawing - it would be about all I could manage with any degree of resemblance....

@tandem02 Thank you, Kathrin.

@Cherrill Thanks, Cherrill. It is a clever structure with shaker holes, bit like a pepper pot - so much so that I've never really thought about how the seeds get out!!!!!!!!!!! (Other than with human intervention)

Great aren't they? I just shook mine all over the front - I may be regretting it in the spring!

@pyrrhula Thank you - they're in my neighbours' garden who are on holiday.......................

@creativeamateur Ha, Paula, they are for real but I'll pass on the idea to the sculptor!!

@dreams Thank you so much for your enthusiastic comment!

Really ? @quietpurplehaze . They really look like a sculpture. Clever capture.

@creativeamateur I can understand what you mean, but they are a real group of poppy seed heads in the neighbour's garden - I did crop the long stems off the photo - they are a regular same colour and the driveway is shingle which probably adds to the sculpture- like effect.

@tishpics Patricia, thank you - this was one of those last minute ideas that worked - I had several other shots lined up that day!
