'Beatles' by quietpurplehaze

'Beatles'

A page of the booklet in my CD of 27 No 1 Beatles singles. I am amused/bemused by the Spanish translation:
'We can work it out' = 'Podemos solucionarlo'
Well, try singing it along to the tune (I bet you all know it.)
And how about 'Day tripper' = 'Vacacion de un dia'
'We can work it out' was no 1 for 5 weeks in UK over Christmas 1965/66 and for 3 weeks in US Jan 1966.
Great write up for this Hazel - and no matter how hard it try to sing along in Spanish, it just ain't gonna work!!

Glad it's not just me thinking that!!!

Love reading all about it. Great shot and share.

Great shot Hazel - I have been digging out my old Beatles bits and pieces - lovely memories!!

Cool shot! I love the Beatles, but "Podemos solucionarlo" sounds more like an advert for "un banco" than it does a Beatles lyric. Can't get a loan? Podemos solucionarlo! Ha ha!

Ah, The Sixties....Sex 'n Drugs 'n Rock 'n Roll. Well, I had a few Beatles records.

@hopelessromantic

Yes I did too! And some Rolling Stones ones, my favourites!

Hazel, what's next, The Rolling Stones in Hungarian? Yeah, who doesn't like the Beatles. It's amazing that Mick and I are almost the same age but I'm sure he has better moves!

Great composition (I mean the shot not the songs, though they were!). Nice bright, satisfying colours!n

Translated songs from a foreign language is often a disaster . They do but I`ve never hear one that can compare .
Can`t see the B. is from my childhood ( I was 25 then ) even did n`t like it at first but now I think they`ve made some wonderful music.
Great composition and tribute to a great 9 misic )quartet

Isn't it funny how long we've all kept some of this stuff? Great shot?
February 25th, 2013
Good shot

Great memories Hazel.

@pyrrhula

I agree - it just loses that 'je ne sais quoi'! and the words don't match the music. (I used to like the Beatles but I'm not so keen now.)

@barbcapecod

Well this is a fairly new CD but I did have some old records and I think I had their autographs but I'm trying not to think about it. Certainly had autographs of Cliff Richard and Adam Faith. Just binned the autograph book at some point!

@gphelps5

Yes, and it was something like a revolution to us then I think.

@tishpics
It was quite difficult to choose which page to photograph but the Spanish translation clinched it.

I'm a great beatles fan, most of my music is on record, sadly no record player now so looking to replace them all with CD's, and FYI I don't think I'll try singing this in spanish :)
