I read a piece in the weekend newspaper about clouded yellows which fly into England from the south at least once every ten years in great numbers. And 2013 is apparently one of those years. But this is just a cabbage white!
Beautiful shot --but please do not mention Cabbage White--I have had sooooooo many in the garden and have decimated my potted geraniums on the patio !!! the butterfly grubs have made the leaves hole-yer than thou !! Shall be throwing out the plants earlier than usual this year !!
Oh thank you - macros are what I love! Well it's one of the new cameras (!): I bought a Panasonic Lumix bridge camera and liked it so much that I bought another Lumix - handbag size!! And I've just got a new laptop so I think that's Christmas sorted already for me!!!
Thank you and for the fav, Paula. This was taken at Standen on our anniversary day out and the window is in the south or garden facade of the house.
(How do they fly all that way)
They can fly over the sea long distances apparently and are not as fragile as they look!
Hope you enjoy them. I love cheese scones but I'm looking forward to trying your recipe - when I remember to buy the blueberries and proper oats!

There are clouds of clouded yellows in Cornwall apparently!! (I want one for a macro!)
p.s. this was taken with the handbag size one.
We all get those wonderful photo`s of you
You make such nice comments, thank you! (I don't often spend so much money in such a short time!)
What a good idea! Thank you, and for comments and fav.
Thank you - the house was great inside too!

Butterflies are so elusive, much more difficult than bees to capture, I think. Sometimes it's just luck! Thanks for your comment.
Ok Beryl not mentioning cabbage white! Thanks for your comment and hope you are continuing to feel better each day.
