I expect this rose is still blooming in a nearby garden today, but probably a bit battered by last night's wind and this morning's rain. Carpe diem has definitely been emphasized for me by 365 project and I always try to take a shot when I see it, otherwise (especially anything in the sky) it will be quickly gone for ever.
Busy day today: big supermarket shop, concert at uni this afternoon, roast dinner to cook - and looking forward to viewing your photos later.
I find it harder to photograph white flowers. The roast is chicken, sprouts, roast pots and parsnips, stuffing and I bought a naughty Christmas pud in the supermarket for 'afters'!
It's a bit laborious - doing accents, I mean! (You have to use the alt key and a different 4 figure number on the keypad for each different accent....)
Re 'hand held' camera: Many photographers (I'm sure some of my 365 Friends who take fine landscapes and cityscapes, especially night-time ones) use a tripod - or at least a monopod - for landscapes and architectural pictures. I have two tripods, rarely use them, only for macro work (which I don't do much now). Lazy! And I like the feel of the camera in my hand. (Re my 1st Nov posting and your reply!)
Ivan, yes I understand that many photographers (who are surely more serious and more 'tehcnical' than me!) use tripods but having bought a bridge camera this year I'm feeling that is quite enough encumbrance for me! I prefer my TZ25 Lumix but how I wish it had an optical viewfinder. I've been researching Canon G15 and Fuji X20 but for me they both seem to have disadvantages. A friend tells me the laws of physics don't allow what I would like in a camera so i'll be quiet now..............
I'll heed your words, Ferry. In fact I didn't feel very well yesterday after a poor sleep the previous night. Feel better today - and the sun is shining.
@quietpurplehaze I love my bridge camera. I too have come to realise my ideal camera cannot be made! Mine's quite an old model now, has its limitations, but I love it! Took the one by the altar in Chichester cathedral with it, and quite a few others posted on 365, including some of the more 'creative' ones.
I sat next to a chap with a Fuji X10 at the photography group this afternoon so was able to have a look through the viewfinder etc. Coming to the conclusion that my Panasonic bridge and compact will have to be my twosome compensation for my non-existing ideal camera!
Oh, dear, you're both making me nervous about my plan to look for a camera to substitute for my iPhone part of the time. I worry a lot about the learning curve, and then still not being able to do what I want. Great shot, by the way, and too right about carpe diem!
If you want a little portable camera the Panasonic Lumix series are great - I have the DMC TZ25 - the only drawback is the lack of a viewfinder - but it takes great pics - see some of my shots on 365!

Yes, amazing, I agree - it's just the odd one or two. Thank you for all your comments on my pics.
