a blossom on a tulip tree

Reminding myself of the lovely visit to Mottisfont in sunshine last week with Gerry @gerry and Anne. The rain is coming down in torrents here today. Ray tried to take Jinks for a walk but he just went a little way and refused to go any more.

Although a Cairn terrier is small there's no way you can argue with one if he doesn't want to do something - well certainly not if he's called Jinks!
This is gorgeous Hazel! Wonderful capture!

Beautiful! I love Magnolias!!! Fav!

Lovely and a fav. Dear little Jinks - I can't blame him for not wanting to go far - it's terrible here too
August 25th, 2014
Gorgeous shot Hazel. I'm sure poor Jinks didn't want to get his feet wet. You are right, you certainly can't change their mind once they don't want to go.

Hope this is OK Hazel I have had to play around to send it as I am still a novice with a computer

We have escaped the rain today Hazel, so surprised as it was forecast but hey we take what we get:0) Although it does make planning a little awkward, we planned to do nothing and we did nothing, apart from grocery shopping which take 4 supermarkets these days, good job they are all next to each other. Then a nice lunch at a new Italian restaurant)
Did I say, nice shot:0)

An unusual perspective on this blossom. Great detail.

@claireuk

Claire you are heroic doing 4 supermarkets! We use Sainsbury's and for a while went to Lidl as well but it 'fazed' me out too much so now it's just Sainsbury's again! Italian lunch sounds good.

No rain here either Hazel......further down near Manchester way i think. Beautiful white tulip tree flower....is it related to the magnolia I wonder....looks the same waxy type flower! I only do Booths too......so handy for me, go to Tesco occasionally if I am Blackpool way & I go every now & again to Aldi. An Aldi going up in Garstang I believe...that will put the cat among the pigeons!

A fabulous capture. Fav

Lovely shot

I'm sorry, Hazel. The second I saw this, I "saw" a little person in a red dress holding her arms up - with wild hair - in the middle of the flower. I couldn't "unsee" it. I'm sure it's a lovely photo though. Hope you'll forgive me! :)

Beautiful flower and lovely detail!

What a beautiful shot, Hazel. Love the detail you captured. I can't wait to have macro photos figured out on my camera. FAV

@claireuk We shop 4-5 grocers once a week. Start with the furthest and work our way home. All in town so not that far to go. Italian for lunch sounds great. Had to make a comment when I saw yours.

What a beautiful shot, can't blame Jinks for not wanting to go out in the rain. We have had a couple of days of sunshine, but it is pouring again now today. Roll on Spring.

Gorgeous blossom!!! So beautiful and an instant fav!!!

This is just beautiful with the crisp detail and the little doll-like center. Sounds like Jinx has a great deal of strength of character. I used to have to shovel the snow away for Poppy Jane. She was what I used to call "almost a Yorkshire Terrier." Our doggy fancier friends speculated endlessly on what else she was.

Fantastic!
August 26th, 2014
Love this, the middle looks looks like a little doll....and Jinks sounds like my dog used to be.....raining? I am not walking, you humans can if you want!

@darsphotos

Darlene, this was taken with the long zoom on my FZ62 because it was growing quite high on a wall.
August 26th, 2014
@quietpurplehaze Hazel, I have the same amount of zoom on my new camera. Wish I had more as I got really spoiled by my Sony with 30 x zoom. Looks like you did a closeup/macro. Thank you for explaining how you took this shot. Now to figure out settings. I will work on that some tomorrow.

@darsphotos

Yes I did a close-up, this photo is only cropped a tiny bit - but it was not on a macro setting, just the long zoom.
