We set off for a walk across the water meadows in Winchester yesterday afternoon: Ray, me, Jinks, my camera. I spotted a heron on the bank of the river, stalked it across the meadow and, halfway across, realized that it was a white plastic bag (arranged in the shape of a heron!).
Then I discovered I'd left my memory card in the computer so Ray lent me his new smartphone to take some shots as I was feeling withdrawal symptoms each time I saw a potential photo.
These crocuses were growing under a tree in the close at Winchester Cathedral.
My first try at using a phone camera and I think it did quite well. Ray has only just got the phone and we discovered afterwards that it does have a few settings on the camera: panorama, HDR, flash and a focus setting.
Lovely capture and colours. I have just bought another memory card to carry in my case as a spare as I have done this a few times it is very annoying but Rays phone has taken a lovely shot they are amazing what they can do I haven't got one though I keep to plain and simple.
An idea which had not occurred to me - perhaps I should get a spare memory card. My mobile phone is out of the ark (no camera!) and I never use it but Ray insists I have it in case I break down while out in the car alone.
A lovely shot of these vibrant crocus isn't it annoying when you do this -I have also done this ,but now I leave the camera out with the card slot open so it reminds me to re install the card before putting the camera away !!
Graham, thank you, a pat on the back for the smartphone camera!

Another reminder strategy - thanks!

Hope you thought I was brave to reveal it!!!!!
Charles, thank you!
