I posted my first portrait in my strangers' project in early September 2015 and I have just reached number 30.
My aim is to complete 100. However, I enjoy the photography and the life stories attaching to the portraits so much that I imagine I will not be able to stop.
Thanks to phil @phil_howcroft for the inspiration. He posts his portraits on 365 as well as on Flickr where the idea originated.
Thanks for the mention haze. It is an impressive array of strangers. Glad to be able to give you a bit of a push to start the project ☺☺
What amazes me is they all say YES. When I did my 50 mono 50mm project I only had one refusal and my 100 strangers project to date I have had no refusals.
They look fabulous in a collage. All great shots and lovely stories to go with them too.
I have taken a weekly portrait shot of strangers for a couple of years, must start it again this year. Haven't done one since we got back from New Zealand.
Really inspiring, I've always wanted to do this project. How do you start the conversation with the strangers? How do the people react to the fact that these pictures are going to be on the internet?
I usually approach people who are on their own and I mostly watch them a bit first and also pass the time of day with them a bit before I say I am doing a project on portraiture. Nobody has ever seemed worried that their photo will be online. I always say I will only identify them by their first name.
Congrats to you first of 30 portrait shots. A great idea and you are a great learning . They all are beautiful captures . If you be in my neighbourhood I volunteer.
@quietpurplehaze I volunteer to be one of you victims . I `m to shy to do this myself. I do n`t dare to ask people to pose.
Thanks for you so nice comment and the fav.
Ina was right , it was a good pic. to use.

I send one on email attachment - but not everybody wants one.
