new one by quietpurplehaze

new one

Every so often I become impatient waiting for my orchids to re-flower and treat myself to a new one.

This time I bought two. The other is not so photogenic, being a dark purplish red or reddish purple.
Sounds like orchids are addictive! Yes my poppy photo was not as clear as I hoped , being red I now understand why!

@pennystot

For red (and white flowers too actually) I think it's a question of closing down the aperture - here I used 7.1. whereas with other colours I might have used a wider aperture). Shall have to practise with the other orchid!

Orchids are lovely. I'd have said White was a tricky one for photos!

A beautiful orchid, Hazel. I often treat myself to a new orchid, unfortunately I have a lot of trouble keeping this variety alive.

I can keep them alive, Merrelyn, with leaves - but the flowers present more of a difficulty!
