in a purple haze

My instinct with such a shot is to crop it to focus on the bee but this time I decided the colour was too nice!

I do not often use word of the month now but having had a quick look, I find one word is 'purple' so by chance here it is for the 1st August.

I often have the same quandary about cropping. My tendency is to go in for the detail but sometimes it's the whole scene that is really the story. Think you made the right choice here, not just because of the colour, but because this tells the more complete story of the bee in it's world.
