This window in the Garrison Church tells, in the centre 'light', of the destruction of the nave (still roofless) in Jan 1941 by a German air force raid.
It illustrates the progress of the raid viewed from the Solent, with searchlights of the Royal Artillery, German bombs overshadowing the city, and fighters of the RAF on the attack.
The church has limited opening hours, staffed by volunteers, and one of them kindly gave me this information.
I loved this window above all the others - maybe the shades of purple drew me.....
I seem to have become better at capturing stained glass: what works is getting in close, using a wide aperture, selecting 'vivid' on the camera settings - usually anyway!
@quietpurplehaze Ah, thanks for the tips Hazel, the best ones I have managed have been when the light is much brighter outside. I cannot alter my aperture as I have a bridge camera so there are limitations for me!

Leadlight windows have so much character.
Yes, the windows are in the chancel which does have a roof and they were all newly installed after the bombing.
