Bothwell castle : building blocks

It looks to be constructed in the same red sandstone as tenement blocks in Glasgow.
That hole looks quite worrying! Sandstone is such a rich colour.

Nothing is too symmetrical. The worst thing is small patches of ordinary modern bricks obviously inserted in exterior walls to stop bits falling off.
