This flower was blooming on the flintstone wall which forms the Master's walled garden at St Cross.

I'm not quite sure what colour to assign to it!

I was thinking burgundy. But I think Casablanca's suggestion of magenta is probably more apt.

I think I'd call it claret colour. Looks a lot like one in my garden called 'Niobe'.

Lovely.... burgundy? The nearest 'official colour' to that would be magenta, I guess? = red + blue for mixing coloured lights, as I recall from Physics (not Art!) lessons. I'm more interested in the contrasting textures... the soft petal against the hardness of the rock.
