We had a trip to Hilliers Gardens in the sunshine. It was a beautiful blue-sky day and we walked about two and a half miles.
Lots of flowers in bloom and, as always, I liked the witch hazel for its strange forms and its incredible scent.
n..b. the brochure we were given at the entrance to the gardens gave pronunciations for the various plants and now I know that you say hamamelis: 'ham-uh-MAY-lis'. I have always wondered!
Babs, perhaps I was named after IT!!
