This is a panorama ‘cheat’ made by cropping. (It fooled the iPad anyway, who categorized it as such!)

I have said before that I love my Sony a6000: it does what I ask it to do - except take panoramas.

This is wonderful on black. I very much like the contrasting yellow and the layers.

I agree, Sony pano setting does not work well. I have achieved one in camera pano with a Sony, my old A37 but at least when it doesn't work, the memory card is cluttered with my many attempts. The battery is still chewed up but can't have everything.

My only camera which does good panos is my little Panasonic TZ25. I have a Sony RX100M4 which is also bad but as you say, philosophically, can't have everything.I've tried everything, to no avail!

'Cheating' like this isn't cheating! I do the same and try to set up the shot with a panoramic crop in mind. In fact I mostly do all crops in that way with the end result in mind.
