Cheese and tomato toastie with salad on the side - great food in this little cafe.
The toilet facilities did not live up to the same standard. The door marked ‘Toilet’ gave onto not a toilet but a steep windy staircase with shallow steps and the handrail not evident all the way up, then a few more straight steps plus a corridor leading to the loo.
The smart brass knob on the inside of the door was almost falling off so I dare not close it in case it fell off leaving me shut inside (being claustrophobic) and the loo seat was wobbly.
I did not complain as probably they are, nearly, doing the best they can in the old premises but we shall not be visiting there again.
That looks yummy. Yesterday I had the classic grilled cheese and tomato soup but somehow I’ve never thought of adding tomato to the sandwich. Probably because the tomato we get this time of year is flavorless and the meal is designed for cold weather.
Mrs S said she would have gone to the Gents - this gent would have looked for a quiet corner of the car park... both behaviours are acceptable in France ;-))
That looks good enough to eat. Sorry about the difficulty with the facilities. I would have definitely said something. The stairs alone sound like an accident waiting to happen.
The toasties (melted cheese in the states) look very yummy. As for the facilities, I might have complimented them highly on their wonderful food but mentioned the issues gently. Some attention to them might save them some business.
It was Ray’s but yes I could eat it OK. And the way things are going I’m getting close to not being able to walk any reasonable distance but I draw the line at a ‘what you said’!
Please to tell Mrs S that this café is quite continental: the ladies is the gents and vice versa! (one loo)
mouth drooling.........
Yes maybe posted not in the best TASTE!!
Well there is that consideration!
