I usually find birds quite elusive but this starling flew on to the weather vane just as I took the shot and obscured the date of 1859 after the initials WM.
What a delightful house & this does not surprise me as the home of such a great designer of beautiful wallpapers & décor. The small well roof is exquisite. Can you go inside & if you did are the walls covered in William Morris paper?
