Today Ray found himself in Southsea to pick up a patient during his voluntary work ambulance car driving.
He took the opportunity to take this shot of this bronze statue in Southsea unveiled to commemorate the Royal Marines that took part in the Falklands Conflict in 1982.
The words on the sign: 'Shoulder to shoulder, brothers in arms, to the end.'
"Yomp is Royal Marines slang describing a long-distance march carrying full kit. The origin of the word is unclear (one suggestion would interpret it as an acronym of Your Own Marching Pace. It was popularized by journalistic coverage in 1982 during the Falklands War" (Wikipedia)
I thought it an appropriate post this week of Remembrance - taken with Ray's mobile.
Great shot. Brought back memories. David was involved with the Falklands War. Will never know what he did though. He got a commendation but not to be released to the public
Technically it's just a day here too, Bep - 11th November always.

We were interested to read this, Babs. Well done to David.
