Ray gave me a good size piece of amethyst a long time ago. It's in the downstairs bathroom. I've found that the camera always brings out the flaws in the stone!
Lovely sharp shot of the crystal point. I have found macro shots of my mineral collection really hard to do - mainly due to lighting issues. I love how the camera can catch internal flaws and fractures as well as the details and lustre of the faces.
Yes, I took several shots to get this from my X20. My little Lumix didn't cope too well.
