home made

If you have a vision of me chopping the peel and flesh of Seville oranges, squeezing juice, collecting pips in muslin bags - be disillusioned.

I used a tin of ready prepared oranges. It made 8 jars, very tasty.

For us jam = Bonne Maman and we save the lovely jars to re-use.
Well that's the way to do it. Looks very good and a nice capture with the light shining through .

That's the only way I make Marmalade these days as well , and it does taste beautiful ! As I am a lover of ginger I sometimes make a batch adding to it a spoonful or so of ground ginger and some finely chopped preserve ginger !! -- delicious !

@gigiflower

Sam, perhaps my produce is a bit like photography - prone to giving illusions!!!!

How clever. My husband loves good marmalade and we are continually looking for it in shops. We do buy Bonne Maman.

@weegordie

I've never been 100% happy with any bought marmalade and this is so easy. Tins are in the supermarket.

@quietpurplehaze HAHA Hazel, you are far too harsh on yourself ;)

@gigiflower

Well, seriously, Sam a friend told me a few days ago to 'stop crucifying myself' over a family difficulty we have now. I guess some of it is the bi-polar speaking. Shall have to sit back and take stock again!

@quietpurplehaze Mmm, it's good that you recognize what you may need to do. Your photos are fabulous - I think you are very talented!

I wouldn't call that cheating at all. I would call it being efficient. And I bet it is just as tasty too. And I am with @gigiflower Sam too. I think you are very talented too.

Even if you used the easy way, these jars with marmalade look delicious. Orange is my favorite. Lovely capture.

@gigiflower @karlow75

Thanks so much, both of you, for your encouraging words. I only discovered photography 10 years or so ago and it's great to have found such a fab new interest, and to have 365 to share it with everyone. ( Just have to focus on 'carpe diem' at the moment and keep grounded.)

I don't think the latter two come ready prepared in tins!! But perhaps one day when I'm feeling really energetic..................
November 23rd, 2014
Looks great to me!
November 23rd, 2014
@quietpurplehaze You have to give it a try - we found out how good it is when we stopped at a house in France and the landlady made - yum.
November 23rd, 2014

November 23rd, 2014
Fabulous shot.
November 23rd, 2014
You shouldn't have given away your secret Hazel! Everybody would have thought, "How does she do it? A photographer and make homemade jam on top of that?"
November 23rd, 2014
@skipt07

Skip, another of my 'faults' is that I am too honest!
November 23rd, 2014
Well it's still made by you Hazel! Lovely colour & beautiful glow! AlwYs take the easy way out but don't tell anyone else your secret!
November 23rd, 2014

November 24th, 2014
Oh yes they look tasty!
November 24th, 2014
They looks great. Long time ago, when I did taste a little sweets, this where the only marmalade I like . You `ve done a great job.
(the older I get the less I like sweet. I drive Ina crazy with that.)
November 24th, 2014
Looks lovely - nice finely cut orange skin. What a good idea.
November 24th, 2014
They're my favourite jars too - nice wide necks for getting the jam into. I make my own marmalade in January - all that chopping etc. The tinned stuff sounds like a good idea!
November 26th, 2014
Yum!
November 26th, 2014
@jantan

Jan, I did the chopping bit - once!
