I went over to the almshouses at St Cross hoping to snatch a bit of time with my friend Nancy. I met her there through my strangers project: she manages the tea-room in Hundred Men's Hall. In the summer Nancy cannot easily 'come out to play' as the tea- room is open every day and she is extremely busy including co-ordinating a team of around 30 volunteers.
We had a walk around the Master's garden, resplendent with beautiful flowers. Partway round I remembered the 'illustration' picture effect on my a6000 , which I have discovered is also on my new mini Sony which I've got for holidays.
Not sure this is my favourite. One of the things I like best about your previous poppy pictures is the texture you capture in the petals and that seems to be removed by this processing. Interesting to try but not a winner for me.
Fantastic result straight out the camera just using the effects button Hazel, only time I have looked at these effects was when I first got my Sony A7Rii but never used them to take a photograph, may have to revist the effects section, lol:)
Oh I think perhaps they are on all Sony cameras, certainly on my new compact - be interested to know if you have this too. I'm putting this in for the theme this month in our photo group meeting of sooc - will anyone believe me?!
Babs, thank you - as long as I don't roll off anything!
I rather like the OTT/bling effect this picture effect gives in such flower shots but I do agree with you about the removal of texture.
