not a happy bunny

Today, Jinks went to the dog groomer. I didn't tell him he was going (honest!) but when it was time to leave and I called him to put his harness on, he went and hid under the dining table. So I had to tempt him out with a piece of best Cheddar.

He was happy to see the lady dog groomers (two of them) but when I collected him I had to help them with him and still they were unable to do his feet as he became uncontrollable (I kid you not).

Anyway I think he now looks like a cross between a teddy bear, a chihuahua and a rat.

But it was really necessary as he's increasingly cantankerous when I groom him. So my consolation is that he won't need trimming for ages and I shall easily manage him when he does need a little tidy up.

A dog's life!!!!!
What an expressive face! Speaks volumes.

Jinks has certainly got sixth sense. funny how animals always seem to know when they are on their way to somewhere they know they won't like. He looks a very handsome chappie now though and love the framing.

Aww. I just love his innocent little face!

My goodness! He looks like such a sweetheart who would know he'd react like that to grooming. Is he a happy to be groomed once it is over? Our dog always had a "I look great" after grooming.

I know how he feels when I come home from a haircut wondering what possessed me to tell her to cut it shorter.

Lovely doggie picture. It is exactly the same reproachful expression that my Bella puts on when I tell her its dog grooming time.

@sansjuan

Nita, shall we just say that Jinks definitely has a mind of his own! When I trim him myself there's a point when the growling gets to a certain pitch and I know I have to put the muzzle on him! He's a great little dog but have to know how to treat him!

Thanks for all your message, comments and the favs for Jinks' photo. I think he's feeling recovered after plenty of tlc, extra treats, long walks etc today. I still hardly recognise his little 'shorn' face!!!

So cute! Glenda won't like the groomer touch her feet. I ask the vet to trim her toes since she doesn't like going there anyway.

Naughty Jinks, he should enjoy being pampered. He looks a little surprised here, like the lead. Has he forgiven you now? ;0)
