Snowshoe hare by radiogirl

Snowshoe hare

The Snowshoe hare is the favored prey of the lynx, and follows a ten year population cycle. Nearing the end of winter, food for the lynx is scarce so we are now seeing sightings in town. We are hoping our snowshoe hare will make it through the winter.
In this photo I gave the snowshoe hare a dark background to practice in PS, as there was very little contrast with him against the snow.

Thank you for your comments and favs on the Bird in the Hand from yesterday, its really appreciated.
Sweet, terrific detail and it really shows against the black background. I hope he makes it!

Interesting info. Before I read your info I thought you'd invited the hare inside. LOL

Have so enjoyed you Hare photos! Hoping he'll make it through the winter also. Nice on the black, but I also like it against the snow. Hope to see more images as spring approaches.

It's like when I try to take deer pictures: just can't see them. which I guess is the point of their coloring

He is so timid. Nice processing to accentuate the subject.
It made me wonder what is my reaction if one day you captured a desperate hungry lynx chasing its food. It is so complicated.

@yaorenliu You just let nature takes its course.
