Dinner for Two! by radiogirl

Dinner for Two!

I finally captured 2 Pileated Woodpeckers sharing a meal of suet in my backyard today!
They looked like they were kissing.............the female is on the right and the male on the left with a touch more red on his face.

Thank you for your comments and favs for yesterday photo "Framed by Nature".
Awesome! That's a tough bird to catch and you did it well.

Lucky you! What a great capture! How long did you have to wait for them?

@mzzhope hope they are eating suet (fat) I got It at the grocery store. This is what the butcher throws away so they give it to people who want to feed the birds. My husband nailed it to a piece of wood and it only took a couple of days for them to find it! Now they visit 2 or 3 times a day, they are a very interesting bird to watch. And very pre-historic looking!

@kanelipulla Julia it took a few days for them to find the suet after we put it out!
