I held the camera over the side of the canoe and lowered it to within an inch or two of the water in the hope of obtaining an interesting perspective

These blooms look huge! (Maybe they really are and it's not just the perspective you got from hanging your camera over the side of a canoe.) The leaves (lily pads) look silver in the sunlight.
