As the sun started to disappear behind the clouds the sky started to take on dramatic coloring. The color was caught in the wispy clouds that were floating leisurely across the sky. Great end to a awesome time on the lake! Oh I love summer.
I'm usually out for the sunrise so nice to capture the other end of the day.
Thank you so much for your comments on "Double Vision", I really enjoyed reading them.
Happy Friday :)
I love when the clouds gets wispy like this!! Like someone went crazy with paint brush strokes!!! The colors are just stunning and love that glow!! Fantastic capture!! FAV!
We were planning a trip to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole later this month. We are considering changing our plans and head to Glacier and Banff area. I loved all your photos and have wanted to go there forever. Did you camp or stay in lodge/motels? We will have our RV and our dog...which sometimes makes it difficult to explore as much as we would like. Your photos inspired me and any advice you have would be appreciated. Thanks so much for all your visits and lovely comments and fav's. So appreciate it!
@eyesmile Gena thank you so much for your visits and comments.
We flew in to Calgary, rented a car for a week and drove to Banff and then to Jasper along the Icefield hwy. We stayed in hotels. Banff is a quaint little town with lots to see and do, excellent restaurants and lots of interesting shops, and art galleries. Many side trips right from Banff each with easy flat hiking trails also good for Charlie and exceptional scenery. Some good short day trips are Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, and Lake Minnewanka. A must see is the Icefield Glacier hwy from Banff to Jasper. This is a 4 hour drive which took us 11 hours because we stopped so often to take pictures with one stop for breakfast!! We saw many RV's along the way with places for them to pull in as well. At Jasper a must see is the Edith Cavell mountain, and Malign Lake. To see any of these sights I highly recommend getting there early in the day both for parking and taking pictures, as there are so many visitors and tour buses and it gets very crowded. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, I would be happy to help.
@eyesmile I forgot to mention I went in early June and it was somewhat busy as opposed to the summer when apparently it is crazy busy. Let me know what you decide.
@radiogirl Thank you soooo much! We are planning on Glacier National Park in the US at this point. If it works out for us to go up north we will. We might save that for a fly in trip staying at a lodge at a later date. WOuld be so much easier without Charlie with all the hiking possibilities. We will enjoy Glacier I am sure and take some other side trips. RVing and dogs do have limitations....but we also have some advantages. So enjoyed your photo tour...amazing photos!
What a beautiful shot
