Beautiful. Are the huts in the water? There was a story in a school book the children read when I was teaching. The family fished through a hole in the floor and entered the hut through the floor. Is this what happens here?
@ubobohobo hi Margaret the water is frozen and it is about 15 inches thick of ice, you can drive out to the huts on the frozen ice. I like like your version as well. 😊 Thanks for stopping by.
@koalagardens Yes you can drive out to the huts and sometimes drive for miles on top of the lake. Take note our temperatures can often be be -30 so the lake freezes up very well, even though it is more than 500 feet deep in some places. Yes you can fish inside the hut through a hole in the floor and a hole in the ice that you hand drill. As I write this it does seem hard to fathom! Thanks for stopping by. :)
I love this - I was wondering about how far out those huts were until you mentioned driving out there - then I remembered when I did some ice fishing in Colorado seeing people out there with their ski mobiles - ice fishing is fun.
