Ice covered Rocks by radiogirl

Ice covered Rocks

We hiked out to a waterfalls, this is a rock cliff that is next to the falls and the water spray freezes on the rocks. I like the yellow and white combination. The yellow on the ice is from the iron ore in the water.

Thank you for your comments and favs on yesterday’s photo of Donna feeding a Chickadee out of her hand.
lovely!

Brrrrr! that does look cold! great patterns and the hint of yellow makes it look like an animal pelt - a warm fur to keep the rocks warm!! ( sounds silly but its what I see !!) Isn't nature wonderful even in the depth of winter! fav

What's that old saying about yellow snow or ice?
Great details in capturing the levels of the ice formations as they grew.

That is some pretty awesome frozen water on those rocks. Don't know why I hadn't figured out about the yellowing - I've seen it before but didn't know why the color. Thanks :)

We get ice that freezes near here that turns blue from the minerals in the rocks. Good catch!
