EEEK! by randystreat

EEEK!

There I was. Sitting in my chair in the living room, feet propped up on the hassock, knitting and watching a TV show. I felt a little tickly feeling on my foot, looked down and saw this crawling across my feet. Trying not to panic and scare the thing I swept into the floor, caught it between a glass and a piece of paper and relocated it outside. I'm pretty sure this is a Carolina Wolf Spider. It's body was just slightly under 1 inch and legs from front to back when spread spanned over two inches. Check out the beady eyes and the fangs. Thank goodness this species is not inclined to bite.
That's what I'd say....EEEEEEEK! Great shot.

I don't mind spiders, unless they're not where they're supposed to be--like inside on me! I'm glad you set it outside and got a great photo as well! This has marvelous detail!

Was it as big as it looks? Eeeek indeed ..I would have frozen on the spot and been too scared to move to get my camera !

A Fav! for how excellent this photograph is (great focus!) and for your kindness in relocating this spider outside instead of just squishing. I hope it repays you for your kindness by catching and eating a 1000 mosquitoes!

OMG Kathy, I'm so impressed with this shot, as I'm not sure if I would have reacted the same way with a 2 inch spider on me or in my house. LOL

@lindamp5 @cejaanderson @lyndemc @novab @tosee @peterlgrave @barbtatum @ziggy77 @fntngrma @craftymeg @taffy @pyrrhula Thank you all very much for your excitement over my spider shot. There was no need to scream. I was by myself so no one would have come to help me. I really don't want to kill much if I can get them back safely to their own habitat. I could tell a fish story and say it was "this big"- hold my hands six inches apart. But it was a pretty large spider. I captured it under a glass and got some shots through the glass. I had my camera ready when I took outside and took the glass away.
