@homeschoolmom@altadc@thresheg@craftymeg@pyrrhula Thank you for your kind words and favs. They used to have young men who were incarcerated participate in a program with forest service who went out and fought forest fires. The state eliminated this program, at least in our area, when they shut down the youth prison. Too bad. I always thought it was a good program to give some self-esteem to these young men.
@vignouse The fire fighters and rescuers jump out of the helicopters and rescue folks on the ground where ground transportation can't reach. I watched them practice this one day from a real helicopter in another part of our town.
