Lysning Shawl by randystreat

Lysning Shawl

This is a shawl I spent a lot of my newly acquired "free time" knitting. The diagonal stripes are shadows from the blinds in the windows.
I like how the shadows mirror the strips in the chair. Nice shot!

you've done a beautiful shawl Kathy! It like 1/2 crocheted and 1/2 knitted. I'm so impressed and jealous! Beautiful way you set up this photo too! Fav

@santina Thank you Santina
@hajeka Thanks Henk-Jan.
@craftymeg I appreciate your nice comments Margaret. Send me your address and perhaps I'll make you one. I seem to have plenty of time on my hands right now.
@will_wooderson Thanks so much Will.
@pyrrhula Thank you Ferry.
@olivetreeann Thank you. The lacy pattern of the shawl and the varigations in the colors of the yarn help to add some textures, too. @francoise Thank you very much Francoise. Perhaps I need to get a wider brimmed hat and do a series.
@thewatersphotos Thank you very much Gary.
@tosee Thank you Tom. I almost waited too late to get good light.

@randystreat
Now I’m more impressed. All I can do with knitting is a scarf or blanket. K1P1 or some other combo with K & P. :(. Need a lesson or a few dozen from you!
May 9th, 2020
@jb030958 If you can k1p1, you can knit anything you want. You take it one stitch at a time. The more complicated the pattern stitches, the more you need to keep track of what you have done, whether you use a row counter, post-it notes all over your pattern or whatever works for you. And, even experienced knitters rip out or tink back, or put a project in time out. I have projects I can talk and socialize while doing and those that I even have to turn the tv off to knit. If I can be of help, feel free to let me know. We'll correspond in a different style.

@randystreat Oh thank you Kathy, maybe I will take you up on that! I have some knitting kits that were my aunt’s. I was looking at 1 yesterday and thought it was too hard especially since it said intermediate on the pattern and I am such at beginner level. So if I get brave I will let you know. :)
