Get Pushed Challenge 411
My Get Pushed partner challenged me to take an image that includes deliberate lens flare. My challenges: to research the appropriate camera settings for this type of shot and to figure out where the sun was when I went out to shoot. Didn't plan on posting another lens flare but why not?
I like the star flare. To get a really nice star pattern you want to stop down to a smaller aperture, or higher number like f/22 or as high as your lens goes. The more blades in the aperture the more star bursts. Some lenses have rounded blades for an aperture and won't give as good of a star pattern. Cool shot!
@francoise Thank you Francoise. @fbailey I had to check out Google. Not hard to do. Use a narrow aperatur, a darker exposure and and longer shutter speed than you might ordinarily use for the shot. Shoot with the subject between you and the light source. See Mikel's comments (two below yours) @kaylynn2150 Thank you Kaylynn. @mikelskoog Thanks Mikel for the comments and tips. @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian. @wakelys Yes. I did it! @haskar Thanks so much. @craftymeg Thank you. @hajeka It is! Thanks. @olivetreeann Thanks Ann. I didn't know that there are different styles of lens flare. I think I did the best with this one, too. @pyrrhula Thank you Ferry.
