Get Pushed Challenge 474
My partner this week challenged me to lighting like Rembrandt lighting. This lighting is tough. Especially when posing by oneself. This is another pose from last night.
@jacqbb Thank you for this challenge. I really spent time trying to get the lighting right and ended up getting a bit of Photoshop help to help with the shadows on this one too.
I am sooooo impressed with your expertise. this is difficult to achieve on another person, never mind a selfie. how did you manage the set up of the lights?? Another huuuuuge fav
@jb030958 Thank you Jennie on both counts. @grammyn Thanks Katy. It's me. I looked at some of the Rembrandt paintings and most of the subjects weren't smiling either. Thought this face would be more authentic. @ubobohobo Thank you so much Margaret. @30pics4jackiesdiamond I only used one light and that was like a desk lamp only it sits on the floor. I put it sort of 45° of the center of my face in one direction and the camera 45° of the center of my face in the other direction. I was in a closet so that it was totally dark. I had to take a few shots to try and get it just right. Here's a link I found to be helpful: https://www.photoblog.com/learn/rembrandt-lighting/ Thank you so much Jackie. I try...sometimes more than other times. @kjarn I don't usually try to be too serious for photos. Thanks for your comments Kathy. @wakelys Thanks so much Susan. @pusspup Thank you Wylie. @ziggy77 Thank you thank you Jo. @tunia Thank you Tunia. I admit I had to have a little help from Photoshop. @craftymeg Thanks Margaret. @olivetreeann Thank you so much Ann. I'm my only resident model.
Looks like a Rembrandt painting. This is beautiful, the path of the light and how your face is the only illuminated part of the image makes it feel almost unreal, and the eye contact is a key part of what makes this so intriguing. Sorry for rambling!
