yowsers! this brings back memories of my childhood. 😂 crawling through barbed wire fence of the lettuce plantation near our family home, i'd grab a few lettuce plants and the man who owned it would send his dog to chase me. once my dress got caught on the wires and ripped, and i got scratches all over my legs. my mother got mad because of the dress then later got even madder when i had to have a tetanus shot (which of course was expensive, but good thing my godmother owned a pharmacy so the shot was free but we still had to pay the doctor). and you'd think i learned my lesson as i did it a few more times, wearing shorts so i could crawl easily. 😂
@grammyn Thank you Katy. I liked the rust and the angles. @wakelys Thank you Sue. I'll look into that challenge. I don't remember them all so I appreciate the tips from my friends. @thewatersphotos They think they're keeping people out, but someone's not looking too closely. It is part of the fence that surrounds the old furniture plant (where the silo from Wednesday's photo is). As a matter of fact the plant burned down (it was vacant) because folks were going in it and they managed to catch it on fire. No one injured thank goodness. @pyrrhula This surrounds what's left of a vacant furniture plant. They are wicked. @summerfield Oh Vikki. What an eventful life you have lived. I have no story in my life to compare. (I've been blessed) @kjarn Thanks Kathy. I do like rusty things (if it doesn't matter that they are rusty). @joemuli Thank you Joey.
Ditto what @grammyn said. The light, the intermittent rust. really wonderful. I remember stepping over, under, or through, with someone else holding the wires apart or down. But we were just going on our dad and uncles land. Not as exciting when it's your own barbed wire fence. That land is owned by someone else now, but he says we can go out walking there any time.
@homeschoolmom Thanks Lisa. It was right there in my face (almost) and a bright sunny day. Made that a bit easier. @haskar Thank you Hannah. I bet if you got started you would have as many stories as some of the other folks I follow here. I've had an easy life, thank goodness and have been a suburban girl rather than having spent a lot of time in the city or the country. Some might find my life boring. It's OK.
