A temporary roost? by randystreat

A temporary roost?

First noticed through the bathroom window this morning. I had to turn my head to see the three on the top right. I decided to go look from outside the house. The one on the left flew in as I was taking photos. I didn't notice the one on the bottom right until I pulled up of the photos on the computer.

I've been seeing these black vultures sitting in trees near my house (and close to the road) a number of times lately. Wonder if they are looking for a new roosting spot or if they are just passing through.
Beautiful b&w capture.

This is a terrific photo to catch all of them in one shot! Perhaps there is food nearby?

Not a bird to love but you got a good picture of them.

Eerie. We have several trees, a couple with dozens of buzzards in them. They roost there each night. They are also, apparently, migrating.

They were waiting for the right time

@haskar Thank you Hannah.
@kwind Thank you Kim.
@grammyn Thank you Katy. We've had some deer hit and lying on the side of the road in the past few weeks but there weren't any that I saw yesterday. It may be they are migrating.
@tunia Thanks Tunia.
@cocobella Yes. I like looking at the top of the tree through my bathroom window during the day.
@pyrrhula It is a tall and old tree. Thanks Ferry.
@bkbinthecity Glad you liked it Brian.
@farmreporter Thanks Wendy.
@thewatersphotos Wow, I haven't seen dozens yet and can't tell where they go when they fly off. I'm speculating these might be migrating.
@digitalrn Yes. They probably all flew away together.
@shutterbug49 Thank you Debbie.
@pusspup Apparently it's wake of vultures and a murder of crows. 😄 Thanks Wylie.
@craftymeg Thanks Meg.

maybe there's a dead thing somewhere near. aces on the shot. i love seeing birds on bare or dead trees. there's something ominous about it. aces!

@brillomick These are probably them Mickey. Thanks.
@summerfield A bit ominous. My friend has a story about passing by a hospital in the next town and seeing (probably migrating or mating) vultures circling the front entrance. Gives one something to think about.
