I have this rock sitting by the light pole in my front yard. I saw the pattern of the shadows cast on it by a shrub between the sun and it and quite liked it. Since I told you what this was, it's no longer very abstract.
@will_wooderson Thank you will. At first I thought a tortoise. @wakelys Me too. I shouldn't have opened my big mouth and maybe everyone would have thought I was on a trip to the Galapagos.
if you had intended it to be abstract, you could've cropped it so that only the rock fills the frame. then we'd have a hey-day guessing what the heck it was. aces!
I thought the same thing as Vikki. A tight crop so that only the rock and shadow filled the frame and we would not have been able to tell what it was at all. Good eye!
Yes, the crop would make it very interesting to try to figure out. Then the shadows would look more like texture. It is still a very interesting image though. Nice spotting.
@corinnec It looked that way to me too Corinne. @pyrrhula Thanks Ferry. @summerfield I went back and looked at it cropped close. Looked like a rock to me, perhaps even more so. But then I knew what it is. @grammyn I know what you mean. @taffy Thanks Taffy. @olivetreeann Thanks Ann. Still looks pretty much like a rock cropped close. @shutterbug49 Thanks Debbie. I looked and the rough texture of the rock is more visible on a closer crop. @joemuli Thanks Joey. @jcoder Thank you Jessica. It did look like I cat when I first saw it. @cdcook48 Thank you Chris. @kjarn An animal crouched in the grass. @haskar Thanks Hannah. @pusspup Thanks Wylie. And you're welcome. I've enjoyed reading it. Are they your photos, your partner's or both? Who writes the blog? Inquiring minds want to know. @craftymeg Thanks Meg.
