@grammyn Thanks Katy. I just didn't want to break anything on purpose. Thank goodness I don't clean up well.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you Jackie. The sun coming in through the window didn't totally illuminate the subject.
@wakelys Yes. Now I'll have to go out and buy another rain gauge. I know they are prettier in glass but plastic lasts through the winter. Thank you.
@pyrrhula Thank you Ferry.
@kjarn Yeah, I let it freeze and break. Thank you.
@thewatersphotos I knew better, but wasn't expecting the freeze that night. The frozen water expanded and popped out the bottom of the rain gauge.
@jamibann Yes, stupid me. I knew better.
@aikiuser Yes it is. It wasn't old, just neglected.
@farmreporter Thank you Wendy. I'm guessing because of the way it popped out it might have been assembled with a seam there.

I love that diagonal slice of light highlighting the grains of dirt.

@randystreat just one more reason why it is a good idea to keep things around! You can never tell when it will make a great photo op.
