The blades of grass are all so coordinated in the composition! Plus I love the effect of the black and white.

that would make a great fabric!

@mebswartz - I'm flattered that you ask and happy to tell you what I can. I've done similar things (always using Picnik) a number of times with the goal to make it look more like a fabric than a photo. For other examples, there are similars on 7/19, 8/13, 8/30 and 9/12. I start in the "artistic" tools with pencil sketch to get the lines strengthened. Some times I fade out a lot of the color there too. Then I use color tool pretty much on top of color tool (invert, tint, etc. ) 'til I get some combination or overall hue I like. I really just keep going through them and keeping what I like and then layering something else on top of it until I'm really happy with it. Often I use matte (not vignette) to "burn" the edge when I'm done. So, there's not step-by-step clear process - essentially I just emphasize the lines and then fool around with the color.

@reba Interesting. I'll have to give it a try sometime. Thanks.

This reminds me of some "grass" wallpaper I had as a teenager. I loved it. And I love this.
