I ventured into new territory tonight when I stepped out onto our third story roof deck, took the lens off my trusty EM-5 and mounted the camera body directly to an 80 mm refractor telescope. It was my first attempt at astrophotography. My coach said I did well and I have to say I'm pleased with this shot of the near first quarter moon and its awesome craters.
I'm married to an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer so I've looked through scopes for years but had never before set up my own shot. Since it's the new year, I'm up for new challenges and now want to do my own night sky images. Next on my bucket list is … Jupiter!
I'm totally envious!!!! Fav!!!! My dream is to do a shot like this without having to totally crop and up the definition slides to get the craters to show up clearly. This is fantastic!!
Wow, that is amazing! And, way to venture into new territory! This is one of the clearest moon shots I have seen.....can't wait to see what you do with a full moon....and, Jupiter! FAV!
